Dr. Ryan Piche is the owner and optometrist at Coastal Plains Eye Care. Dr. Piche formerly practiced at an ophthalmology practice in Glennville, GA for five years before opening his own practice in Claxton. He is excited to bring eye care to Claxton and surrounding communities!

Exam copays and deductibles are due at the time of service.

Yes! We would be happy to care for your eyes. Please contact our office for private pay exam rates. All services must be paid for in full at the time of visit. We can provide itemized receipts upon request for you to submit your visit to your insurance plan as out-of-network.

Yes, dilation is necessary to fully evaluate the health of your eyes. Dilation is safe and the side effects are mild and wear off after a few hours. Your near vision will be blurred and you may be light sensitive after your appointment but we will provide you with dilation shades for your comfort.

Yes! We will ensure that you are fit with high quality eyewear to provide the best vision possible. We carry unique frame lines that will set you apart. You can also stock up on your annual supply of contact lenses so you don’t have to worry about reordering during the year.

A contact lens is a medical device that needs to be properly fit to keep your eyes healthy. If you are new to contact lens wear, we will teach you how to properly wear and care for your contact lenses. If you are an existing wearer, we will ensure that you are fit in the best contacts for your visual needs and lifestyle. A contact lens evaluation is necessary every year in order to have a valid contact lens prescription written for you.

Yes! We see children as young as 2. We recommend an eye exam before kindergarten or sooner if you notice any problems such as an eye turn. Our line of glasses for young children are flexible and durable and come with a safety strap.
